29.11.2022 \\

The Morra Greco Foundation is pleased to present on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 6 pm a talk with Virginia Zanetti, the artist selected on the occasion of Level 0 in ArtVerona 2021, represented at the fair by Traffic Gallery. The talk will delve deeper into the artist’s practice and discuss with the public and the participants the workshop led by the artists on last November 15. The photographic artwork realised by Virginia Zanetti on this occasion for the Fondazione Morra Greco Collection is currently installed in the Educational Department.

In collaboration with the SmArt Lab Plan of the Suor Orsola Benincasa University, the ’embodied education’ research group directed by Maria D’Ambrosio, the ASL Napoli 1 Centro – Department of Mental Health with the Operational Unit of Child Psychiatry District 24, and Traffic Gallery, Bergamo, the workshop Open Like a Flower, Forgotten Memory was the first step of Virginia Zanetti’s research project and works dedicated to “forgotten memory.” The project is a collective attempt to tap into ancestral memories investigating with our mind and body memory and its functioning through a multidisciplinary approach and the interweaving of scientific and spiritual practices. The laboratory intended to investigate the relationship between parents and children starting from the body, activating epiphanic moments and forgotten memories through the exercise of Feldenkrais practice, mediated by the artist’s father, Franco Zanetti, a teacher specialized in the discipline. The body thus becomes a device of interaction, a reactivator of physical, childhood and intimate memories, giving value to those often little explored and conflicting alliances that bind parents and children.

During the restitution, the artist, Maria D’Ambrosio, director of the ’embodied education’ project, some representatives of the research group of Asl Napoli 1, and the group of participating parents and teenagers will share with the public the unfolding of the collective and collaborative process involved in the workshop’s preparing and implementation, retracing the steps and dynamics of interaction behind it.

The meeting will be held in the multipurpose space of the Educational Department of the Morra Greco Foundation.

EMBODIED EDUCATION Is a research group established in January 2015 at the Suor Orsola Benincasa University of Naples and founded and directed by Maria D’Ambrosio, which works in partnership with other national and international universities and territorial entities. Thanks to an agreement with the Morra Foundation, the operational headquarters is at Casa Morra in Naples. Embodied education is a transdisciplinary research space for rethinking, learning and experimenting with other forms, environments and methodologies of training in a bio-educational key, where the territories of the arts and plastic and performing arts are explored as inter-code systems located in the contemporary and from which other epistemological statutes and new professional practices can emerge.
