Peter Fend in Fondazione Morra Greco

\\

During July, Fondazione Morra Greco welcomed American artist Peter Fend to its spaces. Throughout this residency period, Fend was able to work on new projects and actively interact with the vibrant Neapolitan cultural context.

The artist also explored part of the regional territory, participating in two special visits to the Sarno and Volturno rivers, two natural resources of great value to Campania, emblematic for their ecological and sustainable importance. On these occasions, Fend was able to observe and study up close the delicate balances that characterize these environments, marked by a past of pollution and uncontrolled urbanization that have endangered the health of river ecosystems and local communities.

Despite the sometimes difficult histories of these areas, awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting these vital waterways has grown in recent years. As a result, several initiatives have been launched to promote sustainable practices, monitor and improve water quality. Various organizations, associations and individuals – including those who conducted the two artist visits – have chosen to dedicate their efforts to preserving the natural environment and raising awareness in neighboring communities.

We thank all the people and organizations that made these visits possible and guided us to discover these amazing territories.
