The museum as habitat for new futures<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

As part of EDI Global Forum, the Education Department of Fondazione Morra Greco opens its spaces to university students, giving them the opportunity to build a habitat for experimentation and to consider themselves an active part of the Foundation\u2019s cultural programming and actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Embracing the conception that within a museum space everything happens in front of the publics and with the publics, who are no longer spectators but protagonists, and that one can no longer impose historical, critical and theoretical hypotheses letting the public be a simple receiver of information, the Education Department builds a horizontal dialogue with students, encouraging them to co-produce knowledge, critical consciousness, cultural mediation, and above all, to experiment with new ways of living and inhabiting differently, to test collective experiences that can be realized in the present and future and to design together the museum of tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depending on their needs and the schedule of Fondazione\u2019s cultural programming, the students will be able to work in the spaces of the Morra Greco Foundation to develop alternative visit projects to the exhibitions and history of Palazzo Caracciolo di Avellino, to create open discussion boards on topics selected from time to time together with the staff of the Education Department and the EDI Global Forum project team, also opening up to the teaching staff of their universities, to build a direct bridge with the university realities that would like to be part of the community.

THE ART OF ANGER \u2013 DESTRUCTION OR POSSIBILITY?<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

On the occasion of Marina Xenofontos\u2019 exhibition Eternal, Returns<\/em>, Michela Sodano, a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples, curated a workshop dedicated to the exploration of stories, images and reflections on the concept of anger. Xenofontos\u2019 exhibition addresses the complex relationship between past and memory \u2013 both collective and personal \u2013, always marked by the failure of possibilities envisioned during adolescence and yet remained utopian. Through this reinterpretation, Sodano aimed to explore how during adolescence the feeling of anger can turn into a powerful \u2013 or chaotic, even \u2013 form of inner and outer revolution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants had the chance to investigate personal memories born out of domestic environments by directly and visually intervening on images taken from the exhibition. The workshop thus became a participatory space where art evolves into emotion and the image of a memory ground for both conflict and construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

COME LUOGO PER RITROVARSI<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n


Curated by Francesco Tardio and Mariaurora Terlizzi, with the collaboration of Roberto Salernitano, the workshop proposed to the public the construction of an empathetic and sensorial relationship with the works of art, inviting them to shorten the distance between external sight, the more immediate and superficial one, and internal sight, the deeper one connected with their own imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Accompanied along a dynamic path and partly blindfolded, participants could immerse themselves in a dreamlike and soundscape, in which the sounds and noises of the museum environment and the installations from Gregor Schneider\u2019s Bauen und T\u00f6ten exhibition would resonate, acting as a bridge to release words and reflections on the relationship between museum space and sensoriality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SOLITE STRADE<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m in a hurry I\u2019m in a hurry it\u2019s late! repeated the White Rabbit, the character from \u201cAlice in Wonderland,\u201d running frantically from one side to the other to avoid being caught with a watch in his hand. Time for him was a persecutor, but what about us? Are we not all suffering from the White Rabbit syndrome? Starting from this reflection, born from a visit to the exhibition Matando el Rato (killing time) by Eileen Noy, which investigates the concept of contemplative slowness typical of the countries of the South, a group of students from the Academy of Fine Arts of Naples presents two workshop appointments dedicated to the \u201cslow\u201d exploration of the urban context through unconscious, playful and psychogeographic practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SENSORY WRITING<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The workshop aims to invite participants to immerse themselves within the stories told by the artworks of the exhibition Tanz auf dem Vulkan. Tales from the Morra Greco Collection II<\/em> \u2013 currently on display at Fondazione Morra Greco \u2013 through the loss of connection with the real and the connection with the surreal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants have been involved in dynamic activities spread over several floors of the Foundation. Most of them have been with eyes closed and in direct physical contact with each other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Limited accessibility for people with mobility disabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CHOOSE<\/h3><\/div>\n\n\n\n

By immersing participants in the mythical stories of Naples, this workshop challenges people to overcome stereotypes and prejudices. Neapolitan superstition and culture are reinterpreted to develop the empathy necessary to experience the other\u2019s point of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
