15.05.2026 \\ 16.05.2026

Fondazione Morra Greco and Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli expand their collaboration with a new event: a workshop dedicated to exploring museum heritage through a queer lens, held at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli. Open to second-cycle students and the general public, with limited places available.

How can the MANN collection be reimagined through new and more accessible perspectives?
The workshop “Pratiche Museali Queer: narrazioni alternative al MANN” offers practical and theoretical tools for interrogating cultural heritage through a lens capable of uncovering alternative genealogies of knowledge and new identity narratives.
Through the analysis of works held at the Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, the workshop employs a queer lens to explore non-linear sexualities and identities, investigate the political role of heritage interpretation from an LGBTQIA+ perspective, and experiment with different ways of narrating and representing archaeological museum heritage.

The workshop is curated by Fabio Ranzolin, PhD candidate in History and Cultural Studies, and Bianca Marta Imbriani, curator and student at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli, under the supervision of Giulia Grechi, lecturer in Cultural Anthropology and Anthropology of Art at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Napoli.

The initiative is part of the EDI Global Forum programme as an opportunity to foster direct dialogue between research, art, and social issues.
