How does the role of the curator relate to photographic language and space? How does the viewer experience the exhibit’s arrangement? How does an idea take shape and form?
The course explores the relationship between the curator, photographic language, and the exhibition space. It is designed for creatives and visual artists working with photography, offering an immersive experience that will guide them in developing and curating a project. Through an experimental and collaborative approach, participants will learn how to transform conceptual ideas into tangible works, adapting them to the exhibition context and contemporary language—from the inception of an idea to its realization in a specific form.
Under the guidance of Roberta Fuorvia, curator and co-founder of The Docks, participants will develop a language that reflects contemporary sensibilities, with a focus on research, planning, and production. The course will culminate in the creation of an artwork or artistic intervention, which may take various forms (installation, booklet, performance, etc.).
